An attractive Republican silver denarius, sharply struck with areas of golden toning. This moneyer was the nephew of Manius Fonteius and a close friend of Cicero. The design of the reverse probably depicts the military exploits of his uncle whilst governor of Gallia Narbonensis from 76-73 BC.
